About 18 years ago I bought a couple of pieces from a gallery in California—from San Diego, if I recall correctly—that was going out of business and selling their entire inventory at a flea market in Santa Monica. I bought a couple of Jan Schlechter Duvall’s works. I’m
Just wondering what they may be worth ( perhaps I need to get them insured?) I can send pics. Is this something you may be able to help me with? Kindly let me know. Thanks in advance. Renée Coleman

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Dear Renée, it is difficult to judge from pictures, but the painting looks really nice and it is understandable that the works are precious to you. If you want to insure the works, I would advice you to contact a dealer in modern art, gallerist or auction house. For the market value, you could look at www.artprice.com. Unfortunately the museum cannot give estimates, since we are specialized in the (art)historical and cultural worth of artworks. Good luck and kind regards, Els
