A lansquenet regiment consisted of some four or five thousand soldiers commanded by a colonel. There were various functionaries (officers of a kind) in a regiment, who were responsible for specific duties such as justice, policing and provisions. The officer of the watch was responsible for guarding the army camp. As the holder of a 'regimental office', he carries a half-pike.
