More information

This film by Peter Moore shows the American première of 'Originale'. A performance under the direction of the German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen with assistance from Allan Kaprow, Nam June Paik, Charlotte Moorman, Jackson Maclow, Allen Ginsberg and others. In the performance, each musician and actor is allocated exactly the same playing time. The artists were placed in seven 'structures', and sometimes up to three performers would play their individual parts simultaneously. This gave rise to interesting dissonants.
