More information

These sturdy dogs used for pulling carts are called Mastiffs. They are heavy dogs that often do not fully mature until they are three years old. They are usually quiet in temperament but have to be well trained. They can sometimes be aggressive. Because of their strength, they were often employed as a cheap substitute for a horse. After all, dogs live on scraps and they don’t cost much.
