The Depot

The Depot of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is the world’s first art depot open to the public. The iconic 40 metre high building stands in the heart of Rotterdam’s Museumpark and immediately catches the eye with its reflective exterior and impressive interior. The Depot houses the museum’s entire collection: more than 155,000 works of art, collected over a period of 175 years.

At the Depot, visitors are literally given a glimpse behind the scenes of the museum. The artworks are spread across fourteen storage areas with five different climate zones. The building also houses four restoration workshops where visitors can watch restorers at work.

Flexible rooms between art and the city of Rotterdam

On the top floor of the Depot are restaurant Renilde and the Coert room. These two modern spaces are separated by a glass atrium. Panoramic views of Rotterdam can be enjoyed from every angle.

The Coert room can be booked separately for events. It is also possible to reserve the entire sixth floor exclusively for your event. The combination of Renilde and Coert can accommodate events for up to 300 guests.

On the third floor, between the restoration workshops and depot areas, you can find Study Room II. This space is suitable for small gatherings, workshops and meetings for up to 25 people. The room features four large tables and an interactive whiteboard, providing everything needed for an effective meeting in an inspiring environment.
