Endowment

Together with individuals and the business community, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is building a capital sum so that the museum is less dependent on ad hoc funding and prey to economic fluctuations.

For this reason, in 2014 the independent Endowment Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen Endowment Foundation was established.

An endowment is a fixed sum; the interest earned is used to facilitate essential restorations, acquisitions, exhibitions and educational projects, enabling the museum to continue to innovate and inspire future generations.

Investing in the future

As an individual or company you can make an ongoing contribution by giving or lending to the endowment fund. The capital sum in the endowment remains intact. This means that donations that are invested in the endowment fund now will continue to earn interest in fifty or a hundred years from now. You are really investing in the future.

The endowment fund is held by an independent foundation with charitable status, which means that gifts or loans to the endowment are exempt from gift or inheritance tax. That’s good for you and good for us: your gift is tax deductible and the museum receives the entire amount.

You can read more on the website of Stichting Endowment Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

Giving or lending to the endowment fund

You can give in four different ways:

  • One-off gift
  • Periodic donations
  • Bequest
  • Giving by means of a will during your lifetime, with usufruct

Would you prefer to lend to the endowment? That is possible with an interest-free loan for a minimum period of five years. We will be happy to explain the fiscal advantages associated with each form of giving.
