Depot Team

To ensure the move goes smoothly, a large team will be working in the depot seven days a week. There are twenty-four people to unpack the objects, six registrars and three coordinators, working on a rota system, supported by a team of art handlers and security staff. Part of this team will continue to work in the depot after the move.

Sandra Kisters, the head of the collections, has been closely involved in the development and design of the depot from day one. She is overseeing the preparations for the relocation of the 154,000 objects from the five external locations to the new depot. The project leader for this mammoth operation is Sjoerd Voss.

'The idea behind the Depot is that we want to, and can, show the entire collection.’

Sandra Kisters, Head of Collections and Research.

Video Portrats of the Depot Team

In partnership with Zahra Reijs and Milan van Dril, we have made a series of video portraits in which six members of the depot team talk about their work in the new building and what it means to them. The series begins with security guard Harry Kramer; Head of operations and maintenance, Wout Braber; and the project leader for the relocation, Sjoerd Voss.
