lecture Marijke van Warmerdam - Eyecatcher

In her lecture “Eyecatcher” Marijke van Warmerdam talks about her work. Since the 1990s she has created a filmic oeuvre comprising various media: film, photography, sculpture, installations and, recently painting. Following the lecture guest-curator Jan Debbaut will interview Van Warmerdam about her work.

Marijke van Warmerdam was born in 1959 in Nieuwer Amstel in the Netherlands. Her work has been included in many important international exhibitions including the biennales in Venice, Sydney and Berlin and Documenta X in Kassel. The exhibition Marijke van Warmerdam - Close by in the distance in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is the first exhibition on this scale of Marijke van Warmerdam’s work in the Netherlands.
