From 10 June 2017, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen’s special collection can be seen in an unconventional order, as guest curator Carel Blotkamp takes over from Peter Hecht. The Collection as Time Machine will feature a new dual chronological arrangement. Old and modern will alternate, creating a chronology with a twist. This rehang of the collection will provide a fresh look at art history, and modern art post 1945 will be more prominent.

Work in the Collection from 6th March until 23 June

Work begins on 6 March and there will be no access to rooms 2 to 7 and 24 to 35. However many of the well-known works in the collection will still be on display. The new displays will be opened on 24 June 2017. Until then only a part of the collection is on view. Our invigilators and the staff at the information desk can tell you which galleries are currently open. If you come to see a special work of art, please check the Collection Boijmans Online prior to your visit to see if it is on display.
