Opening summer exhibitions
On Saturday 8 June the official opening of the summer exhibitions will take place in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and in the Submarine Wharf on the RDM campus. On this special day 4 exhibitions will open: ‘25 Years Rotterdam City Collection’, ‘Sensory Spaces 1 – Oscar Tuazon’, ‘Lubok 11’ and ‘XXXL Painting’ in the Submarine Wharf.

Departure to the Submarine Wharf by boat
Welcome by director Sjarel Ex followed by a special performance by Klaas Kloosterboer and children from primary school.
Entry to the museum and the Submarine Wharf is free on this day.

North Sea Round Town
On Saturday 8 June the music event North Sea Round Town has its kick-off. The event takes place between 5 pm and 6 pm at the Submarine Wharf docks. The wonderful jazzy sounds of Choro de Maas wil ensure that the opening day is even more festive. Click here for more information about North Sea Round Town.
Submarine Wharf – XXXL Painting
For the fourth consecutive summer the Submarine Wharf will function as a sort of playground for artists to create a special installation. The three artists Klaas Kloosterboer, Chris Martin and Jim Shaw will transform the 5000m2 wharf into a giant art studio. 25 Years Rotterdam City Collection
To celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Rotterdam City Collection (that would not have existed without the structural contribution from the City of Rotterdam), internationally renowned artists and designers from Rotterdam have pride of place at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. This exhibition will be divided into two exhibitions: ‘The City, the Artists and the Museum’ and ‘Design in Rotterdam’ For more information about the exhibition click here.
Sensory Spaces 1 – Oscar Tuazon
For three years Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen will provide a platform dedicated to contemporary art in the series ‘Sensory Spaces’. American artist Oscar Tuazon kicks off this new series. The series is made possible by AMMODO. Click here for more information about this exhibition.
Lubok 11 – a publication in linocuts by 12 arrtists
The exhibion Lubook 11 is a collaboration between Lubok Verlag, Leipzig and PrintRoom, Rotterdam. All 12 linos will be exhibited at the museum in the displays in room F. For more information about the participating artists click here.
