Fra Bartolommeo: from Drawing to Painting.
Florentine Masterpieces from the High Renaissance.

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, owner of the largest collection of drawings (500 on 400 sheets) by Fra Bartolommeo (1472-1517), is studying the feasibility of organizing an exhibition in 2016 of a number of important paintings by the artist, including large altar-pieces, combined with over a hundred preliminary drawings.

This ambitious exhibition is the introduction to the Fra Bartolommeo memorial year in 2017. That year commemorates the decease of the artist-monk 500 years ago. The large altarpieces have never before been on show outside Italy.
