Portscapes
30 January - 25 April 2010
In 2009 national and international artists drew inspiration from the expansion of the Rotterdam docks; the Second Maasvlakte. They reflected on what they saw in works of art—objects, slides, performances, films, stories, interviews, excursions and videos. The projects could be followed at different locations in the port throughout the year.
The results of their efforts can be seen in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen from 30 January 2010. The work of Hans Schabus, Bik Van der Pol, Marjolijn Dijkman, Rob Hamelijnck and Nienke Terpsma, Lara Almarcegui, Jorge Satorre, Paulien Oltheten, Jan Dibbets, Roman Keller and Christina Hemauer and Ilana Halperin is being exhibited in a setting appropriate to the docks—in real, actual size containers, made of fabric.
