New Energy, gallery 7: Light

LED lamps save up to 90% energy in relation to traditional light bulbs. For this reason, after 1 September 2012 the sale of traditional light bulbs will be banned in Europe. Four years later the same will be true for most types of halogen lamps. These technical restrictions have inspired artists and designers to develop new lamps. Every light source has its own specific characteristics. The designs are influenced by aspects such as heat radiation, light colour and reflectiveness of the materials.
