In January 2007 the museum unveiled its exciting new displays, inviting the public to renew its acquaintance with the museum’s masterpieces including old-master paintings and sculpture, prints and drawings, modern and contemporary art and applied arts and design. The chronological and thematic displays are punctuated with three interventions by contemporary artists.

During the exhibitions on Charley Toorop and Erasmus, from 27 September 2008 until 8 February 2009, there is a surcharge of € 3 on top of the museum admission fee (not for ICOM members). On Wednesdays, there is no surcharge and the museum is accessible free of charge to everyone.

On Tuesday 11 November 2008 the museum will begin installing The Collection Two, the new hang of the permanent collection. During the installation various galleries will gradually be closed. The Collection Twowill open on Saturday 17 January 2009 when a new selection of the museum’s rich collection can be admired.
