25 museums and cultural institutions in Rotterdam welcome you on Saturday 7 March from eight to midnight for a festive evening of museum hopping. In Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen immerse yourself in the melancholy and absurdity of the exhibition ‘La La La Human Steps’ or enjoy a nocturnal viewing of your favourite artworks from the collection.
For €17.50 you can buy a passe-partout via www.museumnacht010.nl/tickets (website in Dutch only) and travel for free between the various venues with the special nostalgic buses and trams.
With more than 65 exhibitions, musical performances, meet & greets with artists, surprising guided tours, a virtual game, workshops and a photogenic ride along the River Maas, Museumnacht010 is brimming with culture. There are lots of things to see Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen:
The exhibition ‘La La La Human Steps’ brings together a hundred works from the museum’s collection ranging from recently acquired video and film installations to popular twentieth-century classics. All the works are connected by a single theme: the human condition. Renowned dance companies will perform at various times throughout the exhibition. During Museumnacht010 there will be live dance from Codarts Rotterdam and a screening of the dance film that Scapino Ballet made specially for the exhibition.
The Tower of Babel, René Magritte’s famous paintings or the Bathboat by Wieki Somers: during Museumnacht010 come and enjoy these and other gems from the collection, accompanied by a full mouth-organ orchestra. The winner of the Art Rocks music competition Bird in a Glasshouse will perform her winning song and promises a dazzling experience in Yayoi Kusama’s mirrored room.
