A selection of ARTtube videos linked to 'The Future of Fashion is Now' and 'Out of the Ordinary' are showing in the Video Room for the duration of the exhibitions. See how Iris van Herpen uses 3D-printing technology in her design process. Studio Wieki Somers provides a poetic glimpse of everyday life and trend guru Li Edelkoort discusses the role of textiles in our society.

The Moving Image Collection

The museum purchased its first three films in 1972: they were 16 mm films by the Belgian artist Pol Bury (1922-2005). Since then on film and video have been part of the museum’s collecting policy. The collection also includes documentaries and recordings of performances. Among the highlights are the films of Salvador Dalí’s visit to the museum in 1970. The Video Room is a splendid complement to Pipilotti Rist’s installation 'Let your hair down', which features a selection of six video works running continuously. As well as art videos, the museum also presents informative videos about art and design on the online video channel ARTtube.nl. This platform is created together with the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, De Pont in Tilburg, M HKA in Antwerp, Museum Jan Cunen Oss and Centraal Museum Utrecht.

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen shows a series of presentations of video works and digitized films from the moving image collection in the Video Room. Every three months the museum showcases the oeuvre of an artist, a specific subject or a selection from the museum’s collection.

During the exhibition there is an every day surcharge of €2 for the museum.
