The activities of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen are not limited to the museum complex; the museum also brings hundreds of thousands of people into contact with art via online platforms and TV.
In 2010 the museum produced its own art programme, Boijmans TV, in association with RTV Rijnmond, Popov Film and Ro Theater, a world first. Both the first as the second series in 2013 proved to be a great success, drawing more than 140,000 viewers per episode on TV Rijnmond.
The series can still be viewed on ARTtube.nl and are also available as a podcast in the iTunes Store.
The online platforms ARTtube.nl, collection.boijmans.nl, my.boijmans.nl and alma.boijmans.nl, offer background and added detail for people who visit the museum, while also serving as a tempting taster for those who are not yet familiar with the museum.
The museum is visited online by almost 725.000 people every year. 21 percent of these visitors come from outside the Netherlands.
