Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen displays masterpieces of visual art, applied arts and design. It offers visitors an impressive overview of Dutch and European art from the early Middle Ages to the present day. The rich collection and world-class exhibitions give the museum an international allure.
The museum’s beautiful spaces have welcomed distinguished guests including members of the royal family, artists such as Salvador Dalí and Olafur Eliasson, various minister presidents and foreign dignitaries. These spaces have a rich history. Rooms that once served as the director’s office or the library have been transformed into attractive reception areas.
The museum’s varied spaces are ideally suited to a broad range of events including conferences, receptions, meetings, gala dinners and concerts. There are large bright spaces as well as smaller atmospheric rooms for smaller groups of people. Hiring these spaces outside the museum’s opening hours will give your event an exclusive and special character.
Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen has five spaces that are suitable for large or small groups. These elegant rooms exude the glamour of the 1930s, when the museum was built, yet meet all the requirements for modern events.
The auditorium is a conference room with a stage and fixed seating for 200 people. The space is fully equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system, wireless microphones, digital video projector, slide projector, overhead projector, laptop etc.
Both rooms have a maximum capacity of 14 people. With tables in a rectangular arrangement, the rooms are ideally suited for meetings, courses and workshops.
A peaceful space that can accommodate 24 people with tables in a rectangular arrangement or 65 seats in rows for lectures, conferences etc.
The Van Beuningen-de Vriese Pavilion has a stylish ambience ideal for receptions, product presentations or large dinners. It can accommodate 400 guests standing or 300 for a sit-down dinner. The pavilion is hired only outside the museum’s opening hours. It affords a beautiful view of the museum’s famous sculpture garden and surrounding park. In fine weather you can also make use of the summer terrace.
Choosing the museum as your venue will make your event especially attractive. Expert guides can provide guided tours of the museum tailored to the interests and knowledge of your guests. You may opt for a general tour, a visit to a temporary exhibition or a specialised tour devoted to a particular aspect of the collection. Our experts can also give you an introduction to the museum and its history.

The museum is a treasure house containing unique and fragile works of art. As such, smoking is not permitted in any space within the museum.
We advise our visitors and guests to park in the garages close to the museum. Parking in the vicinity is limited and may be paid for only with a chipcard.
The museum is a 15-minute walk from the Central Station. It can be easily reached with public transport: take either tram 7 (destination Willemsplein) or 20 (destination Lombardijen) stop Museumpark from the Central Station or take the metro to Eendrachtsplein.
The museum is accessible for people using wheelchairs.
