The Pavilion museum restaurant was designed by Hubert-Jan Henket in 1991. The light-filled, transparent space with a view of the museum garden is a beautiful location for a peaceful lunch or cup of tea or coffee. The restaurant now offers table service. The lunch menu includes: salads, soup and sandwiches with ingredients from local suppliers. The tarts come from Urban Bakery, the meat is supplied by organic butcher De Groene Weg, and the fish comes from Schmidt Zeevis Rotterdam.
Tuesday to Sunday 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Tuesday to Friday 12.00 to 3.00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays 12.00 to 4.00 p.m.
You can book a table in our restaurant for groups of six or more. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Espresso Bar, designed in 2008 by Simon Heijdens, is to the left of the museum entrance and is accessible without a ticket. Enjoy a delicious espresso or cappuccino, or tea from Theemaas, with an artisanal tart from Urban Bakery. The Espresso Bar has an extensive range of fruit juices, soft drinks from Luscombe and snacks. In the summer the Espresso Bar has terrace seating in the courtyard.
Tuesday to Sunday 10.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
The walls of the Espresso Bar are used for a series of murals. The current mural by artists Pam Emmerik and René Daniëls is a colourful pictographic drawing entitled 'Duende Too'. Duende is a Spanish term that originally referred to a goblin-like figure from Spanish mythology, but it also describes the passionate spirit that holds an artist in its grip.
There are two connections to Rotterdam’s hotspot network in the museum. You can join the wireless network in the Pavilion and in the Espresso Bar.
