The Museum Shop offers a broad collection of books on art, monographs, surveys and catalogues, providing a wealth of information about the collection and the temporary exhibitions. The subjects of the richly illustrated publications reflect the versatile museum collection, ranging from applied arts to design and old masters to modern art.
On top of the book collection, the shop also sells a wide range of postcards, gadgets and design items. Products by famous Rotterdam-based designers such as Hella Jongerius and Richard Hutten can be found next to designs by internationalle renowned artists like Karim Rashid, Ron Arad, Frank Gehry and others. Naturally, the shop also offers well known brands like Goods, Royal VKB and Normann Copenhagen.
The Museum Shop is located in the entrance area and was designed by Bertjan Pot. By opting for transparency, he showcases almost everything the shop has to offer. Visitors who want to see everything but buy nothing can simply walk around the shop. The entrance doors are display cases and security gates at the same time. The design incorporates a wooden bench with a view of the cloakroom where visitors can wait for each other.
