Kalhorn/Timmermans Fund

Harmen Brethouwer, sculpture, 2004. Loan: Stichting Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen 2005 (collectie Kalhorn Timmermans)

This fund was set up by the two people whose names it bears in 2009 to promote the acquisition of silver and contemporary design. For many years, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen has had a close connection with the collectors Joop Kalhorn and Jaap Timmermans, who have made many acquisitions and commissions in the field of international contemporary art possible. Joop Kalhorn died in 2009.

The new foundation has been set up for 50 years and will make acquisitions at the request of the museum. The board of the foundation and the administration of the foundation’s capital is in the hands of the executive committee of the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen Foundation. Annually, an amount of 12,000 euro is available for acquisitions that become the property of the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen Foundation.
