H+F Patronage

The H+F Patronage (H+F Mecenaat), founded in 2005, is an exclusive partnership between Han Nefkens and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. The goal of the H+F Patronage is to stimulate contemporary art and artists on an international level, and to introduce them to a new audience. This goal is achieved through the collection of work by a select group of artists for a number of years, and by initiating and facilitating projects and exhibitions like 'Silvie Zijlmans. The Uninvited' at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

Han Nefkens has attached the H+F Patronage to the museum for the duration of five years, from 2005 until 2011. In the meantime, works by artists including David Claerbout, Ryan Gander, Sylvie Zijlmans, Olafur Eliasson, Olaf Nicolai and Pipilotti Rist have been acquired and donated to the museum.

Fashion on the Edge

In 2009, Fashion on the Edge was joint-initiator of the successful fashion exhibition The Art of Fashion and provided the resources for bringing Charles Ledray’s installation Mens Suits to the Netherlands (in collaboration with Artangel). In 2009, Han Nefkens also announced that from 2010, in collaboration with José Teunissen via his initiative Fashion on the Edge that stimulates experimental developments in fashion, he will once again be associated with Museum Boijmans van Beuningen for five years. During this period, 700,000 euros will be made available for exhibitions, assignments, acquisitions and interventions.
