Set to open during the 12th edition of the Rotterdam Museum Night on Saturday, 9 March, the ‘Hand Made: Long Live Crafts’ exhibition will literally be bringing handicrafts to life at the museum for the next 10 weeks.
For Rotterdam Museum Night the museum will be open from 20:00 right through until 02:00. Come and watch demonstrations of mosaic-making, crochet and 3D printing or try your hand at calligraphy and jewellery-making in workshop sessions. Schorem’s barbers will be turning the Espresso Bar into an actual barbershop, while in the courtyard Swan Market will be setting up its stalls with handcrafted products.
Visit www.rotterdamsemuseumnacht.nl for full details about the Rotterdam Museum Night and for ticket sales.

The exhibition was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Mondriaan Fund, VSBfonds, SNS REAAL Fonds, the Creative Industries Fund NL, the Cultural Participation Fund (FCP), Shell, SintLucas, the Dutch Centre for Folk Culture and Intangible Heritage, Etsy, Farrow & Ball, the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, the Swan Market and vtwonen magazine.
The first art presentation by Christophe Coppens is on view at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen during Rotterdam Museum Night. Since this Belgian fashion designer quit the world of fashion in May 2012, announcing that he would be pursuing a career as a full-time artist, the cognoscenti have been awaiting his first exhibition with curious expectation.
