Following more than three months of voting and debates, on 12 February we will announce the results...
The winner of the Rotterdam Design Prize 2011 and the winner of the Premsela Public Prize will be announced on 12 February. From 1.30 pm you are welcome to attend the debate together with the members of the jury, the scouts and the nominees. The jury is made up of Susan Szenasy, editor-in-chief of Metropolis Magazine (NY); Sebastian Wrong, designer and creative director of Established and Sons; and Lars Müller, graphic designer and publisher (of Lars Müller Publishers). During the debate they will set forth their personal visions about the nominees and the aims of the prize. The moderator will ensure that the scouts and the nominees get a chance to respond. The debate will be held in English and a video will be posted on designprijs.nl
Around 3.00 pm Ahmed Aboutaleb, Mayor of Rotterdam, will announce the winner of the Rotterdam Design Prize 2011, with a cash prize of 15,000 euros. The winner of the Premsela Public Prize – with a value of 5,000 euros – will also be announced.
Tip: still haven’t voted? Then visit designprijs.nl and make your vote count. On 9, 10 and 11 February, votes can also be cast on the exhibition floor of Object Rotterdam. During these days, talkshows with external designers about the nominees will be held on the exhibition floor at 3.30 pm. You can watch films about the six nominees at arttube.boijmans.nl. You still have a chance to see the nominees’ works before the debate and after the prize ceremony. Entry to the exhibition and the debate is free.
