Since November it has been possible to see the exceptional overviews of the work of designer Hella Jongerius and the work of artist Johan Thorn Prikker. These presentations will remain on show in the museum until 13 February, so seize the opportunity to visit them now!
Johan Thorn Prikker was a rebel, a moralist and a hard worker, which makes his wide-ranging and multifaceted oeuvre highly surprising. Thorn Prikker produced paintings, drawings, graphic art, textiles, furniture, huge murals, mosaics and stained glass windows. All these works have been brought together in an exceptional exhibition layout, with his stained glass windows presented in a chapel in the middle of the gallery. The Dutch broadsheet NRC Handelsblad described the exhibition as a ‘large-scale, surprising survey of the work of a craftsman’.
The ‘Misfit’ exhibition brings together all the important works from the oeuvre of Hella Jongerius. From her vases for IKEA to the Polder Sofa, from the Bovist ottoman to the latest series of Coloured Vases. It offers a unique insight into the working methods, experiments and innovative products by Hella Jongerius. This exhibition has also been receiving plenty of positive coverage in national and international media. The Dutch broadsheet NRC Handelsblad lauded this presentation as an ‘impressive exhibition’.
The winner of the competition in the November newsletter is Mrs Van den Berg from Arnhem. She won the Bovist Dove ottoman manufactured by Vitra. Keep a close eye on the newsletter for competitions and other exclusive offers.
