The director of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen invites you to the festive opening of the museum’s new season on Saturday 18 September at 4.00 p.m.
On Saturday 18 September you will finally have an opportunity to see the masterpieces of the Rotterdam-born artist Kees van Dongen reassembled in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. During the festive opening of the new season, the beautiful exhibition ‘All Eyes on Kees van Dongen’ will be officially opened by mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb together with several special guests. In addition to this important collection of paintings, we are also opening the exhibitions ‘The Horseman's Kitchenette (When Demons Cook)’ by Ronald Cornelissen, and Intervention # 15 – Lutz & Guggisberg – The Studio in Heaven.
11.00 a.m. Museum open. You can visit the exhibitions or take part on a range of activities.
2.00-2.30 p.m. Opening of ‘The Horseman's Kitchenette (When Demons Cook)’ by Ronald Cornelissen.
3.00-4.00 p.m. Lecture about Kees van Dongen by guest curator Anita Hopmans.
4.00-6.00 p.m. Official opening of the exhibition ‘All Eyes on Kees van Dongen’ by the mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, and special guests. Preview of the coming season by Sjarel Ex. The day ends with drinks and music.
In addition to the aforementioned programme, there are free workshops, guided tours, lectures and other activities for young and old throughout the day.
