You get better designer gifts here for young and old and you can leaf through the finest catalogues: the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen museum shop is the ideal place for true design fans. The shop, which is all display window inside and out, was designed by Bertjan Pot in 2008.
The shop is crammed with little presents and luxury gifts. Art books, sleek jewellery and designs by well-known artists are all laid out here. Alongside items by Rotterdam designers like Hella Jongerius and Richard Hutten, there are things to buy by such international celebrities as Karim Rashid, Ron Arad and Frank Gehry. The shop also sells designer brands including Goods, Royal VKB and Normann Copenhagen.
With a real ‘Hella’ in your bag and a screen print from the Art4Kids collection under your arm, don’t forget the (free) exhibitions behind the foyer. Every couple of months unusual exhibitions by different artists are staged here.
Other eye-catchers in the foyer are the floating stone by Wim T. Schippers and the most motile self-service cloakroom in the Netherlands.
