At Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen the ten nominees of the Rotterdam Design Prize 2009 will be announced on 19 September. The designs will be exhibited until 10 January 2010.
Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen will be exhibiting the ten nominations for the Rotterdam Design Prize 2009. The most trend-setting creative visions from the last two years are presented in this group exhibition. The nominees will reveal the qualities of Dutch design today. An international panel of judges will choose the winner from among the nominees during the exhibition.The panel of judges consists of Alice Rawsthorn (design critic Herald Tribune, Londen), Rick Poynor (design writer, London) and Patrizia Moroso (artistic director Moroso, Italy).
Prize-giving and symposium
Prior to the prize-giving on Friday 20 November, the Rotterdam Design Prize Foundation in association with Premsela – Dutch Platform for Design and Fashion will be staging a symposium on the current position of Dutch design seen from an international perspective. A number of renowned guest speakers from other countries will be sharing their views on the progressive nature of cutting-edge Dutch design.
