Pipilotti Rist has made a new video work specially for Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. It can be experienced for the first time on Saturday July 4.
H+F Patronage and the museum commissioned Pipilotti Rist to produce a permanent video installation in the public foyer.
Visitors climb into a rope net in which they lie to look at the new work. The ‘Laat je haar neer - initiation video’ is drifting between reason and dream, like the installation is floating between ground and sky. The video asks: How much of what you see and hear comes from the outside and how much of it is constructed by your brain? Why does your hair grow out of your head as if your cranium is a cereal field? The video tries to give answers.
It is also possible to zap to other video art in the museum collection.
