Sylvie Zijlmans and Hewald Jongenelis invited ten friends in a meadow on ten consecutive days. They assembled the ten photographs of the ten meals to create a single image of a large feast. ‘Ten to One’ will be displayed from 28 February as a wall-sized installation.
In the installation ‘Ten to One’ Sylvie Zijlmans and Hewald Jongenelis present a large image of a feast. They had the guests’ outfits made by a hundred different tailors in Beijing. The artists use the fact that many Western commodities are made on the other side of the world as an opportunity for a personal introduction to these tailors, who normally remain anonymous.
The exhibition is accompanied by a magazine about the project with a text by Dirk van Weelden.
