H+F Patronage

Until the end of the year, the museum is displaying the very populair installation Four Vegetative Sleeping Rooms. Gerda Steiner & Jörg Lenzinger developed their intervention for The Collection One with the help of the H+F Patronage (H+F Mecenaat). This foundation was established in 2005 and is an exclusive partnership between Han Nefkens and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. The purpose of the Patronage is to stimulate contemporary art and artists on an international level, and to introduce them to a new audience.

The H+F Patronage is seeking to achieve this goal through the collection of work by a select group of artists for a number of years, and by initiating and facilitating projects and exhibitions like Silvie Zijlmans. The Uninvited at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Works by artists David Claerbout, Ryan Gander and Sylvie Zijlmans, among others, have since been purchased and donated by the Patronage.

As well as Steiner & Lenzlinger, Andro Wekua has also developed an intervention for The Collection One with the help of the Mecenaat. His installation Wait to Wait was subsequently purchased by the Patronage. Both interventions are on show in the museum until the end of 2007. The museum and the H+F Patronage are currently preparing presentations of the work by Olaf Nicolai and Pipilotti Rist.
