Festive opening

Join us this Saturday for the opening of two exhibitions. Following a debate between an international group of four Kokoschka experts, the museum invites you to raise a glass to the exhibitions and an autumn of inspiring art.

You are cordially invited to attend the opening of the major Kokoschka exhibition at 3.00 p.m. The exhibition will be officially opened by Minister of Security and Justice, Ivo Opstelten. In the debate preceding the opening, Dr Patrick Werkner, director of the Oskar Kokoschka-Zentrum in Vienna and art historians Régine Bonnefoit and Dr Katharina Erling will discuss the artist’s work. On the basis of the eight themes in the exhibition, the respected Kokoschka experts from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will analyse the image of mankind in Kokoschkas work and animals as mirrors of humanity. The debate, moderated by guest curator Beatrice von Bormann, will take place in the auditorium from 1.00 to 2.30 p.m. Register here to attend the debate.

At the same time the exhibition 'Surrealism à la Dalí in Rotterdam' opens.
