The selling exhibition exclusively for children
4 to 19 July 2009
For the fifth time Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is staging a selling exhibition especially for children. At Art4Kids they can buy screen prints by well-known artists. The Art4Kids exhibition is not open to adults.
From 4 to19 July Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen will be showing dozens of screen prints in limited editions by well-known artists. Children can visit the exhibition and choose works of art for
€ 30 each. All the works are numbered and signed, but the artists’ names won’t be shown with the relevant screen prints in the exhibition, so the children won’t be influenced by the well-known names but will make their choice based on what they like.
After they’ve chosen a screen print and it’s been paid for they can take it away (maximum two works per child). Previous selling exhibitions have always been a great success and have encouraged many hundreds of children to buy their first work of art.

160 years of collecting
The museum uses the Art4Kids selling exhibition to introduce children to art, help them develop their own tastes and give them the opportunity to build up a collection. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen owes its existence to collectors. The museum opened its doors exactly one hundred and sixty years ago and showed the collection of the lawyer F.J.O. Boijmans for the first time. The museum will be celebrating its 160th anniversary on Saturday 4 July 2009 (programme: boijmans.nl).
Admission to Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is always free to young people aged 18 and under.
