The Design Prize is a national prize set up in 1963 and awarded every two years. It spotlights the shared qualities of Dutch design and encourages public debate about design. Dutch design is vibrant and exciting, and is the focus of considerable international interest. Much has changed in the world of design since the Design Prize was introduced. Since 2007 the emphasis has shifted from the autonomous product to the designer’s vision.
