Rotterdam Art Weekend a feast of contemporary art

This weekend, 7-9 June, there is a wealth of contemporary art in Rotterdam. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Submarine Wharf, TENT, AVL-Mundo and Route du Nord ensure an inspiring weekend with openings of major exhibitions and other art events.

In the middle of the art summer of 2013 with Art Basel and the Venice Biennale, this weekend Rotterdam is also devoted to contemporary art. The weekend kicks off on Friday 7 June in TENT with the event ‘Less is More, More or Less’. On the same afternoon Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is organising a symposium about the exhibition ‘XXXL Painting’ in the Submarine Wharf in Rotterdam’s docklands. On Saturday 8 June there are three openings in the museum followed in the evening by openings in the Submarine Wharf and AVL-Mundo (founded by artist Joep van Lieshout) on the north bank of the River Maas. And with ‘Route du Nord’ Rotterdam Noord will provide the lively backdrop for new art, music and literature throughout the weekend.
